COVID-19 Operations

WYCO Face Mask/ Shield Requirements

In accordance with the public health order (LHO 06/27/20) issued by the UGPHD, effective Tuesday, June 30th at 5:00pm. Every person (parents, players, coaches, etc.) will be required to wear a face mask or face shield on WYCO Sports Association property when the individual cannot absolutely guarantee they can and will maintain a distance of 6 feet from all individuals not in their immediate household at all times.

Face masks or face shields will be REQUIRED at the following locations:

  1.  Entering and exiting the facility
  2. Restrooms
  3. Concession Stand

Players will not be required to wear masks on the field while participating in game activity. Players will be required to wear masks in the dugout, unless the team chooses to expand their dugout area and practice social distancing.

Coaches will be required to wear face coverings during game activity when they cannot absolutely guarantee that they can remain 6 feet from individuals outside of their immediate household.

It is highly recommended that all individuals wear a face covering at all times while on Wyandotte County Sports Association property.

*Certain individuals with medical conditions or unusual circumstances may not be required to wear a mask. Please read LHO 06/27/20 for more details.

WYCO General Rules

  1.  All players participating in practice activities MUST be currently registered with Wyandotte County Sports Association for the 2020 fall season.
  2. All children not practicing or participating in a game must be directly supervised at all times.
  3. It is recommend that each player bring their own personal antibacterial wipes and hand sanitizer.
  4. Social distancing (6ft) is required for all spectators, not of the same immediate household, at all times.
  5. Bleacher areas will not be available for seating. Parents are encouraged to bring their own chairs.
  6. Players and Coaches may only use the dugouts to enter and exit the field area, players should store unused equipment with their parent or spaced 6 feet apart along the outfield fence. Players shall not congregate in the dugout area.
  7. Team water coolers are not allowed, all players must have a personal water bottle.
  8. Players will not be allowed to huddle at any point during the practice or games.
  9. No handshakes. slaps, fist bumps or other personal contact player to player, player to coach/ adult or adult to adult will be allowed.
  10. It is recommended that players wear masks (esp. batter and baserunners), but is not required for participation.
  11. Sharing of equipment is highly discouraged and prohibited in the case of catchers equipment. Any shared equipment must be thoroughly disinfected between player use.
  12. The use of sunflower seeds is strictly prohibited.
  13. Teams are required to leave the facility at the end of their assigned practice time or the conclusion of their scheduled game.
